People generally use fish oil for it's immune, inflammation-reducing, and brain-boosting benefits, but a recent article by Dr Cliff Harvey explored the evidence behind fish oil for gut health.

Some of the key findings were that:

  • Fish oil helps to improve the balance of 'good' to 'bad' bacteria in the gut

  •  Fish oil increases beneficial short-chain fatty acids that improve gut health

  • These changes to the microbiome reduce the formation of endotoxins and reduce inflammation and immune dysfunction

SO, overall - the evidence seems to show that fish oil isn't just good for your brain and for reducing inflammation to keep you healthy, but it also improves your gut health!
